  3. oconnellpadd13 on Former Detective Supt Colm Fox, in Garda circles across the country, was known as a decent, hardworking Det Supt. He was the Officer responsible for the Bloodied Feud between the Kinahans and Hutch family in the inner City. Sadly the Regency trial collapsed with many questions unanswered because of the tragic death of Colm Fox at Ballymun Garda station by his own official handgun. We now know that he left notes, before he died and one is particularly prevalent; it is alleged that Colm Fox said “my workload is enormous and the pressure is awesome”. Ballymun is in the media again today when a whistleblower who claims that “Rogue Gardai” clock in for Duty and then go away for hours without being monitored or even questioned by Superiors. If this is factual, we have a Garda Force so far out of control that they make the Taliban look like a bunch of choir boys. Like the death of Garda Golden, could the suicide of Colm Fox have been avoided? I believe the answer to be yes but seeing that there is a High Court case pending by his family, who are suing the State, the Commissioner, the Minister for Justice and the Attorney General, I cannot say much for legal reasons. What I can say: there was the Sligo female Garda Jimell Henry, Garda who spent 15 years in Ballymun and literally used the Pulse System to run with her Sligo boyfriend his Drug Empire covering Sligo and beyond by using the Pulse for months and again, she too was not monitored. Who can estimate the damage done by this former Bean Garda? Det Supt. Fox must have felt deeply betrayed by this convicted Garda Rogue. Now we know that the Monk’s nephew walked out of Court when the case collapsed in relation to the Regency hotel and now we can ask serious questions as to how many Rogue Cops were working around the late Colm Fox and probably putting undue pressure on a decent innocent hard-working Garda. These Rogue Cops are not in a minority and there are many in various Stations across every town and city in Ireland. They need to be rooted out and brought before the courts. Of late, I know a couple who have been targeted by Rogue elements in a South Dublin station and this will stop shortly when a written file will be on the desk at Garda HQ. The implications of a suicide in the workplace means that An Garda Siochana would have needed to put in place psychological supports for the colleagues of Colm Fox including all staff.
