Body of man found in tent in Dublin City Centre

Gardai have launched an investigation after the body of a man was discovered in a tent in Dublin City Centre overnight.

The discovery was made at around 3 am at Loftus Lane, between Bolton Street and Parnell Street.

A post-mortem examination of the body will be carried out.

A garda spokesman told Dublin Live that the man received treatment at the scene but was later pronounced dead.

He said: "Gardaí are investigating all the circumstances following the discovery of a man’s body at Loftus Lane, Dublin 1 in the early hours of this morning, Monday, 21 March 2022.

"Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene at approximately 3 am. The man received treatment at the scene but was later pronounced deceased.

"The scene remains preserved this morning and a post-mortem will now be arranged, the results of which will determine the course of the investigation."
