COVID-19 exhaustion prevails; savings are at an all time high in Ireland; FAANG’s, Microsoft and not forgetting Elon Musk were the benefactors of COVID-19 in that their personal wealth has made them the wealthiest elites in the world. But what about Human Rights? Post Pandemic Stress Disorder is what we can expect when this Pandemic is slowed to Endemic, hopefully soon, and then for many people and including children, anxiety that is excessive becomes a serious public health issue. What is hard to accept is that when you read this article published on Bloomberg outlining the working conditions of people who deliver the myriad of parcels received (especially during the Pandemic) is derived through a form of “slave/serf” labour that is unacceptable. What is most harrowing is the level of “Techno Surveillance”.
